Tips
Rhubarb Leaf Spray kills unwanted pests. Boil up a kilo of rhubarb leaves in 2 Litres of water for 30 minutes ( use an old pot that is no longer used for cooking as rhubarb leaves are very poisonous) when the mixture has cooled, spray directly onto aphids, whitefly etc. A drop of dishwashing liquid added will help it stick to plant leaves.

Tomatoes: A teaspoon of milk powder added to the soil when planting your tomatoes is said to prevent thick skins and to ensure even ripening. Also add 1 teaspoon of epsom salts ( for magnesium) to each hole before planting.

Homemade garlic insecticide:
1 1/2 cups water
2 bulbs garlic

Pour water into a blender and add garlic bulbs. Blend until liquified. Strain out any remaining pieces of garlic. Add enough room temperature water to your pesticide. Concentrate to make 4 litres. Pour into spray bottle. Leftovers can be stored by freezing in 1/4 cups portions. Thaw to use.

Insecticidal Soap spray:
4 litres warm water
2 Tbsp dishwashing liquid
1 to 2 drops olive oil
Stir together and pour into a spray bottle. Can be stored for the length of the gardening season. Good for aphids, white flies, powdery mildrew. caterpillars, earwigs. fleas, grubs, leafhoppers, mites and psyllids

Baking Soda Fungicide:
4 tsp baking soda
1 Tbsp cooking oil
4 Litres water
Mix baking soda, oil and water together. Spray lightly on foliage of plants afflicted with black spot, powdery mildrew and other fungal diseases.

Milk Spray:
For powdery mildew on cucumbers, pumpkins etc. Mix one part of full-cream milk with nine parts water and spray  every 2-5 days

To help prevent damping off of seedlings and as a general fungicide. Mix one Tablespoon of cinnamon powder in 2 litres of boiling water and leave to diffuse for several days. Strain off the liquid and then spray it on plants undiluted.
